Shadowshaper by Daniel Jose Older
Angela is outside of her comfort zone, here. She does not enjoy YA, but this is the One Book One Norristown pick for adolescents in Norristown, and RRR is hosting several book discussions and projects around this book!
A Gentleman in Moscow by Amor Towles
Angela has been struggling to find a good book this summer, so she is going with a tried and true author. She read Lincoln Highway about a year ago and still thinks about it regularly. Here's to hoping this one gets her out of her reading slump!
The Beautiful Ones by Silvia Moreno Garcia
This book is like a historical fiction soap opera about this guy named Hector who’s courting this woman named Nina when he’s really only courting her to get with her cousin Valerie because they have ~history~
The Foxglove King by Hannah Whitten
This is a fantasy about this girl named Lore who has necromancy magic and she’s sent to be a spy in the kings court to see if the prince is a traitor.
goodbye ed, hello me: Recover from Your Eating Disorder and Fall in Love with Life by Jenni Schaefer
I just finished reading "goodbye ed, hello me" by Jenni Schaefer. This is a book about recovering from an eating disorder written by a woman who dealt with an eating disorder for many years. Each chapter has a theme and each theme is broken down into short sections so that you can take in the information in small amounts. I found this book incredibly helpful- both as a guide through recovery and also as a guide to finding yourself outside of your eating disorder. This book also includes some journaling exercises to help you process all of the information being presented, as well as help you put into action the ideas the author is discussing. I think this book is a great resource for anyone who is dealing with or has dealt with an eating disorder as well as for people that live with or are related to a person dealing with an eating disorder.
The Hacienda by Isabel Canas
Once I saw that this book is described as Mexican Gothic meets Rebecca, I was in! I love both of those books. So far The Hacienda is a suspense filled gothic domestic thriller and I'm loving it!
Contagious: Why Things Catch On by Jonah Berger
This book has been part of my professional development work around marketing for the business. Unlike most business books, this one is an easy enjoyable read with vignettes about companies and their successful strategies. I'm getting some great ideas for RRR!
