Indie Best sellers

I don’t normally write about the American Booksellers Association kids’ best sellers, but this week's list caught my attention with a Little Golden Book about Taylor Swift.

This book is part of their Famous Faces collection. Other biographies in the Little Golden Book series include: Simone Biles, Dolly Parton, Frida Kahlo, Lady Gaga, Beyonce, Harry Belafonte, Jackie Robinson, Lucille Ball, Rita Moreno, The Rock Dwayne Johnson and so many more.

This series is brilliant for so many reasons. If you’re an adult who read as a child, just the binding of Little Golden Books likely strikes nostalgia in you.

For young readers today, this series offers inspiring stories from all fields, races and ages. It is a great way to learn history as well as see a variety of successful faces.

About 10 years ago, my mom bought me an adorable Little Golden Book called: Everything I Need to Know I Learned from a Little Golden Book. I immediately searched the pages from my favorite Little Golden Book, The Pokey Little Puppy, and it was there.

With the holiday season approaching, I cannot help but think how wonderful these books are as gifts. And not just for kids. If someone could find me an old copy of The Pokey Little Puppy I would be so excited and would prominently display that on my bookshelf!
