The Vaster Wilds by Lauren Groff

While I was excited about this one it is not living up to my love of Groff. I prefer her earlier works like Arcadia and Monsters of Templeton more than this and Matrix.

Parable of the Sower by Octavia Butler

This has been on my tbr for a while, but after reading Fledging I was hesitant. I did not love Fledging but loved Kindred. The edition I am reading has a forward by NK Jemison, and her take of the book got me excited to read it.

The Gilda Stories by Jewelle Gomez

Published in 1991, this is a different kind of vampire tale. It follows Gilda throughout her life as a vampire across time and space - from 1850's Louisiana to Harlem in the 1970's to the Land of Enchantment in 2050. It explores race, relationships, queerness, found families, and what makes a place home.
