⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ The Huntress by Kate Quinn
I'm about a third of the way through and I started reading it today. Really enjoying the characters and the woman centered-ness of it all. The plot is engaging and the pacing is very good. Great pick!
⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ Homegoing by Yaa Gyasi
I loved it!
The structure and how it swapped between branches of the family each chapter down through the generations was lovely. I don’t know how she managed to make you so invested in each character so quickly and then proceeded to break your heart over and over.
I appreciated reading the perspective of a people that were the victims of colonialism as well as the complexity of the issue and how some native Ghanaians profited from it at first.
I liked the end. How it was a little hopeful without being unrealistic. I liked how clearly well researched it was.
Thank you!!! You guys really nailed it with this one!
⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ The Physick Book of Deliverance Dane by Katherine Howe
I’m almost 3/4 of the way through. I love historical fiction, and I’m a big fan of WWII historical fiction, but sometimes it’s all I can find. This is a great change of pace to be an entirely different time period. Plus I find the Salem witch trials very fascinating. This book moves very nicely and doesn’t get bogged down with intense detail or descriptions and the flipping between time periods is seamless.
⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ A Slow Fire Burning by Paula Hawkins
I loved how this book was from the perspective of multiple characters. This keeps you on your toes and lets you know what all the characters are thinking.
